Poets are those who love,--who feel great truths, And tell them.

Talking

by Anonymous

Maybe if you told me,
maybe just once,
maybe then waking up in the morning,
would be,
just a little easier,
notes slip through my fingers,
the notes of your melody,
and i wonder if you even notice
that my eyes can't help but watch you,
my heart wants to love you,
but my head is so unsure,
tell me something i don't know

I'll Be There

by Becca

No matter where you are,
No matter what you do,
I will be there.
Time will pass,
You’ll fall in love,
I’ll be watching from a distance
Your personal angel.
When he breaks your heart,
And tears are pouring down your face,
I’ll be there.
When you pull the trigger,
I’ll put my life on the line
I’ll be there
For you.
Forever.

Too Late

by Kristen

Standing on the edge.
Staring in his eyes.
Watching the waves roll in.
As the tears fill his eyes.
The waves crash at their feet.
People walk down the beach.
He’s unable to say what he wants to say.
Unable to say what’s in his heart.
Pretending that it isn’t real.
So he won’t have to feel.
He can see the pain that is there.
He just chose to ignore it.
Pretending that the pain isn’t real.
Things just seem to be moving too fast.
Moments that don’t last.
Wanting to change the past.
As the sun starts to set.
Tears form in her eyes.
He slowly starts to walk away.
She stands staring at the sky.
Wondering how things got this way.
Not knowing what to say to make him stay.
The waves crash against the shore.
As her heart shatters.
Watching as he walks away.
She steps close to the waves.
He never looked back.
Just continued to walk away.
As she walked into the waves.
Wanting her pain to disappear.
Wanting to no longer be able to feel.
Looking back one last time
at the boy who broke her heart.
He’s still walking down the beach.
As the waves drag her down.
Being pulled under without a fight.
Getting farther from the light.
He stops and turns around.
Hoping to see her one last time.
People begin shouting,
she’s going to drown.
As he runs back to the shore.
She can’t be seen anymore.
He begins calling out her name.
As he walks into the waves.
Searching for some sign.
That he isn’t too late.
That he still has a chance. As
she rises to the surface.
He reaches out his hand.
Praying that she will forgive him.
And open her heart once again.
As he grabs her hand
the waves pull her down.
Thinking he will lose her again
he pulls her towards him.
Looking into eyes that no longer shine.
He carries her to the shore.
Praying for one more chance.
Hoping he hasn’t lost her yet.
People start to crowd around.
As he tries to save her life.
Finally saying all the things
he wanted to say.
Saying the words she wanted to hear.
Just saying them a little too late.
As her mind starts to cloud.
All she can hear is his voice.
His words that he finally said.
His voice telling her to fight.
Her eyes grow tired.
As she blocks out the world.
His tears are falling on her face.
Wishing to turn back time.
Wanting her to understand.
That even though it went unsaid.
She meant everything to him.
She was his reason for living.
Praying to god to take him instead.
Not wanting her to be taken from him.
Hoping for a miracle.
As she slowly starts to slip away.
Telling her how much
he needs her to stay.

Love and Everything

by Melissa

The sky may fall, the stars may, too
but in the end i will still love you.

When things go wrong and life turns tough
and no one is thinking about me
i close my eyes, open my heart,
you're the angel that i see

What I Dream of Doing

by Ida

I imagine, before I die, the things
I’ve always dreamed of doing
I desire that this life
I will live peacefully and slowly
But the world is not like that
So I would have to let it go

I dream of soaring and gliding freely
With my own liberty, up above all ignorant humans
To fly up to the circular yet rough moon
and take in the sight of its pure fascination

I want to go to the magnificent
Bahamas and wonderful Jamaica
To be entertained and relaxed
in sublime trips to Tokyo or San Francisco
I want to enjoy as much as I can,
like furry, selfish squirrels preparing to
embrace the snowy time of hibernation

To go extreme shopping with worthy friends
And visit more than a thousand
hot spots before the dire end
I dream of snowboarding
down the Appalachian like a crazed maniac
I lust to watch a sensational Yankees game
And to wildly root for them with a Hammy face
As well as rocketing up through the Milky Way,
like a hyper dog to a lake

I pray that I will have enough time
To say goodbye to this cruel, spiteful world
I have to quickly seize the day
Before the obnoxious grave is swiftly dug
Where I will lay
For no human can predict the future,
No one knows what will happen the next
All I can do is to keep my fingers crossed
for the absolute best

What If

by Candise

What if i told you the reasons behind my actions,
would you laugh and call me a freak
or would you accept me?

What if i said i still missed you,
would you feel the same
or just laugh and walk away?

What if i went to you in a time of need,
would you help or just ignore me
or make it worse?

What if i came to you and told you i still loved you,
would you return my feelings
or would you crush them again?

There are so many 'what ifs' in the world
and so many wonders unanswered,
but still we add and add
to that growing population.

My Little Glass Jar

by Rebecca

Clear
Shiny
Calm
My little glass jar
Perfect role model
No wining
No complaints
Does as it’s told
Held by others
Not a care in the world
But then
One day
It breaks

Digging into all who held it
Targeting the ones who cared
Leaving scars
To never heal

Those who wouldn’t touch it
Those who hated with no reason
Are left
Not a scar
Not a scratch
Not a care

Life of A Teenage Girl

by Kytasia

Life is full of thrills ,
And life can be rough,
Yet life is full of chills
And life can be tough.
Making decisions.
Fulfilling your dreams,
Choosing your future,
Isn't easy as it seem,
Dealing with the pressure
Dealing with school
As people criticize you,
They make you look like a fool,
Drama, Gossip
Floating around,
People talk
No truth to be found,
Hanging out with friends,
So the fun never ends,
Never drink and drive.
It'll save more lives.
Be careful who you trust...
Take a risk if you must,
Share all your laughter
Why frown when it take
less energy to smile
Forget all your problems
I believe that it's better that way.
Just know who you are.
Believe that you can make it
Life your life the fullest.
And try not to stress it.
